*The table and mirror were gifted through a partnership with Arhaus

When we started part-time homeschool last year with our 3 girls (plus one little sister who also wants to be in the thick of things 😉), we realized it might be time to start looking for a new dining room table large enough for all of us to spread out with school books and projects. The kiddos are still young enough that I need to be close by while they do school, and we were all elbows and clutter on our small dining room table. I thought about doing like a little school room/section of a room or something like I’d seen on Pinterest…but I kinda think we’d end up spread out all together on the biggest flat surface anyway. Or on the couch. Either/or. 😉

After researching for awhile, we chose the Francis table from Arhaus [HERE]. I was drawn by the vintage farm table style initially, and while it’s definitely in the “investment piece” category of furniture, it’s a bit less of an investment than some we had on our list from PB and RH. The Francis table fits the scale of the dining room and is quite a bit longer than the (awesome!!) vintage table we had in here for a few years, but it isn’t too big either. The curvy, deliciously chubby legs were a big draw for me, and I love that it’s made by hand from reclaimed wood!

TIP: to add even more character and vintage feels to a table, search for antique caster wheels on eBay and install on the legs of your new dining or side table! We had these from the previous antique table in here, and now they look so cute on our newer, longer table! Makes the furniture easier to move around, too.

Added a fresh rug from my curated collection with Well Woven (HERE), and I love the vintage vibes of the table and mirror combined with the more boho/eclectic vibes of the rug and chairs. Mixing and matching is kinda fun! I love a vintaged-out rug under tables too, bc the pattern makes any stains that miiiiight happen blend in. Not that we ever have those here. 😉

Excited to work with Arhaus as they’ve offered something pretty exciting for my followers over on Instagram coming soon…!! Be sure to hop over [HERE] and follow along so you won’t miss the fun! 🎉
(Also…the laundry will be so excited to rest here, too! 😂)

The table, I can understand, needing bigger and larger space for school work. But getting rid of your gorgeous mantel, and replacing with a mirror makes me sad🙁 Always looked forward to you styling it for different seasons. Still love ya, girl ❤️

Can you show me where your farmhouse hacks post is regarding faux shiplap you did in dining room?

You mentioned that Pottery Barn and Amazon both had a very similar chandelier. Which one did you go with? And I’ve looked on Amazon and can’t find it. Can you help me out?

Would you mind posting the Amazon light fixture link? Love this!

I love this table. I wish I was in the market. I guess I could accidentally ruin ours. Haha Maybe not. The mirror is gorgeous as well.

Loved the room before, love it now too! That mirror is gorgeous! And you have a gift for bringing beauty and simplicity together. I’m so glad I found your blog/ig a few years ago, I rely on the creativity of others often and I am grateful for lovely people like you who share their talents.
