Decorated the living room’s fireplace mantel today with a few pieces of simple, modern art, a funky lamp and a few of my little plant babies. Normally the mantel is my least favorite thing to decorate, because I’ve never been great at it (in my opinion), but I had fun playing today in stories [HERE]! Below I’ve included links for the pieces I chose for our home, as well as 12 minimal modern art finds that you might like, too! Since we are landlocked in Oklahoma and I’ve been missing the ocean like crazy this past year, I went for a beach theme: sunrise, people at the shoreline and some stacked beach stones!
With our new home, I’ve been taking a slower approach to decorating it and putting our touch on it, mostly because I’m sort of making a bit of a change in style and vibe, it seems. My soul feels kind of heavy and swirly lately, and I think that’s contributing to the longing for simple, clean decor if anything (I’m actually really enjoying the negative space or empty spaces for a minute!). In the past, I’ve rushed through projects and rooms simply because I needed content for Instagram, and while that definitely can light a fire under one’s booty to get moving and not procrastinate, it started to feel like I forgot what I, Erin, actually liked! Sort of sad, but true. So. Taking things a bit slower this time and tackling small projects that each in turn make this house feel more and more like our family’s home.

What is your home’s aesthetic or style vibe? Does you prescribe to one particular design philosophy, or are you more eclectic and collected, filling your house with what you love no matter the style rules? I think I fall into the later category as I explore this mashup of minimal, mid-century and modern styles in our new home. I am excited to continue to discover what I actually like, take it slow and enjoy making our house a home! If you are looking for new decor, maybe these 12 minimal modern art finds could be helpful!

Where is that awesome little lamp from?? Can you link it too please?
I’m curious where you got the frames for your prints? How did you decide how you were going to mix and match them? Thank you for being here and for your help!
I love your new shelves and can I just say that I am really excited about not having to hang artwork anymore. I swap it out on my mantle as well as pretty chairs. It’s so easy to make decor changes when you don’t have to nail a hole in the wall! You did a beautiful job:)
