What up, coffee mug addicts!! ππ»
Okay, so I get asked a LOT about how we hung my Rae Dunn mug collection under the cabinets, so prepare thyself for quite possibly the easiest DIY evaaahhhh.
Boom!
You’re done!
See how easy?!
π
No but for real, we just used a bunch of these little mug hooks (sometimes called C hooks or cup hooks) in a 1 1/2 inch size, spaced out equal distance between where we wanted each mug to hang, and then we (“we”….ha. MY HUSBAND. ππ) screwed them up underneath the cabinet!
That’s it, guys! Told ya…easiest DIY ever! We don’t have space on our kitchen walls for a cool farmhouse mug rack (like this one I love…!!), so this was my alternative idea. Big fan of the look of these Rae Dunn mugs (which can be found at HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls), and I wanted to display them in a creative and practical way. We use them for everything from coffee to snacks to soup to frozen yogurt, and hanging them on these little mug hooks makes grab and go quite easy!
Speaking of Rae Dunn, I’m announcing a fun little giveaway over on my Instagram [HERE] tomorrow evening…be sure to follow along so you won’t miss the fun!
What a cool idea and easy way to showcase that beautiful Dunn! Love it! π
Thanks for checking it out, Mindy!
Awesome idea !! Love it ! Can’t wait to hear more about the giveaway ππ. No Rae Dunn here where I live π©
For reals. It’s totally dried up around here these days, too. π
I’m a new Instagram follower of yours. I get such great inspiration from you! Love your collection of mugs…. My husband doesn’t understand the trend of labeling everything haha he would never drink out of a cup that said MR. (Insert eye roll) enjoy your alone time!
Ha ha! My girls are picky about which ones they want to use…it’s pretty cute. π And yes! Alone time. Ahhhh. ππ»
Love this idea! I will be trading my chippy mug racks for subwile tile in our new home. A bittersweet trade off, but this is a great idea to avoid damaging tile. Xo
Oh yes, that’s a great solution! I wish I had wall space in here for one of those cutie mug racks, but this is a good alternative for now. ππ»
Always look forward to your IG stories and whatever you post! Girl, you are π funny! Someday would love to see what the back of your hairstyle looks like . Such a great cut. I know people ask that all the time , sorry !!
Well thank you for keeping up with my crazy! π And actually I think my hair stylist and I are going to film a story next time I go for a trim/touch up so she can tell y’all all the things I have no idea what to say!
This is so fun! Do you need to predrill with these hooks? Or did your husband.π
Hold on, let me ask him!
He said yep, pre-drilled and then screwed them in!
πππ you are hysterical!! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ Can’t wait for the bachelorette too π·πΉ
Cheers, girl!! π·
I love this! I can’t decide how I want to display my Rae. But this is a great idea if this is what we go with when we build. Enjoy your time!
Hey Nikki, thank you!!
I think you had mentioned how you inexpensively updated your kitchen and it involved chalk paint… or did I totally IG dream it?!?! If you did, is there a blog post I missed? I love my kitchen but I’m cursed with builder grade oak cabinets π©π©π©
Hey Joyce, yes! We did chalk paint on the cabinets, but that was before I had a Cotton Stem IG or blog…so no pics. π© I wish I had snapped a few so I could do a blog tutorial!
Darn.. but glad I’m not going crazy and dreamed it. Lol!!
OMG…..I seriously think we are twins….You make me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants….Best title of the YEAR……hahaha She is CRAY-CRAY!!!! LMAO
HA!! Please stay friends. π³π
Oh girl you couldn’t get rid of me if you tired!!!! π
I miss Alone Time. π© (Mine would be SAT) ππ Great tip! I might have to add some inside my cabinets, too!!
Oh that’s a good call, too! Hmmm I might need to actually do that….πππ»
I’ve so enjoyed watching your instastories and following along! SupEr cute way to display your Rae. π¬ Enjoy your EAT. π
Well thank you for stopping by, Merany!!
I am more in love with your backsplash everyone I see it! π
Thank you! I like that it’s a little weird. π Appreciate you stoping by!
Your kitchen really makes me want to chalk paint my cabinets but I’m super intimidated. Mostly because my kids are 6 & 2 and keeping their hands off of the polycrylic would be extremely difficult.
Ha! Good thing it dried pretty quickly. π I wish I’d known I was going to do IG/blog when we did it last summer–I would have taken some pics!
I love your kitchen! I was hoping you could share more info on your counters!
Thanks, Brandi! They are DIY concrete countertops, and, while we didn’t do a tutorial, we followed the one on Young House Love’s blog–check it out!
Thank you! I thought that was what you did! It turned out so good! I’ve never seen it done on curved end ones which is what I have. I’m going to give it a try!
I love watching your instagram stories! Can you let me know where you found your kitchen cabinet hardware, and what color? Also, where is your flooring from, and color?? Thank you for making my Me time more enjoyable π»
Hey, thank you! The hardware is just from Amazon–search flat black cup pulls or something like that. The flooring is wood look tile from Lowes, Style Selections in Natural Cinnamon Timber!
I love this idea Erin! Would give me an excuse to buy more mugs!!
Awesome ideas! We’re your countertops diy as well? I’m trying to figure out how to do a concrete look in my kitchen… I just love it!!
Ugh! Autocorrect! Were*
Hi Erin,
When you installed the C-hooks under the cabinet, did they poke through to the other side? That’s the only thing I’m worried about. Thanks in advance!
Love your curtains!
Where can i buy those?
Drop cloths from Home Depot!
Very Nice Blog..!! Thank you for sharing this information with us. It is very useful and important information for those who are doing this work for the first time.
