Clean, Fresh Candles for the New Year!

, , ,

(*Thank you buddies for helping me in supporting small shops, like Antique Candle Works who is sponsoring this post!  Love giving these kinds of companies the love!)

One of the best ways to add warmth and freshness to our home is through candles, and I might have a sliiiiight addiction to them, guys.  ๐Ÿ˜ฌ  Admitting it is the first step, right?!   I love matching the vibe of my home or the particular season of the year with corresponding scents, and, now that the holidays and their spicy, warm smells are behind us, it’s time to usher in a fresh new year with some fresh new scents!  I hope that through this blog post, I can helpfully describe to you the yumminess of these candles and what they smell like so that you can then help support one of my favorite shops with confidence….even without the in-person sniff test. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll be your nose!!

Below are a few of my faves right now from Antique Candle Works, a small hand-poured candle shop I am proud to represent!  (NOTE: these candles fill the room, y’all.  Which I love!  Can’t stand sniffing a yummy candle in store only to get it home and realize that was about it.  I want the room to be filled with yummy smells, and these candles do the job!)

lavender:

First up is their take on the classically fresh scent, lavender!  Okay, so we sometimes use a few essential oils for different things around the house, and one of those is lavender.  If I were to compare the smell of the candle to straight up lavender essential oil, which in my opinion can be a bit strong or harsh, I’d say the candle is like a cleaner, fresher, lighter lavender aroma that still fills the room with that classic scent.  It doesn’t punch you in the nose like the essential oil can do sometimes, but rather it’s lavender with a fresher twist or something [HERE].  It’s bright and light and evokes freshness and a clean vibe somehow, ha!

cashmere:

Okay….I love this one.  But it is so hard to describe!!  Let me try: the best way I can describe this candle and it’s very delicious scent is that it evokes a walk through the woods…but a feminine one rather than a masculine one. ๐Ÿ˜‚  Hear me out!!  It’s made with sandalwood, vetiver and cedar but also has white musk in it…and those words sometimes make me choose against buying a scent bc I don’t like manly, harsh candles.  But!!  This one totally surprised me and ended up being a new fave, because this particular woodsy mix has a sweet, light, more…well…FEMININE walk-in-the-woods-after-a-rainy-moment type of smell, and I can’t get enough.  If fruity or sweet candles aren’t your thing but you also don’t want your house to smell like leather or harsh woods, then try this one out [HERE]!  It was a dark horse and has captured my heart….and nose. ๐Ÿ˜‰

clean cotton:

You don’t have to ask me twice on this one…I love it!  Not only is the name pretty darn perfect ๐Ÿ˜‰, but it is hitting all the right notes when it comes to a scent to use in the new year.  No more holiday spice, no more peppermint for a minute…I want clean and fresh and new.  This candle is like all those feelings poured into a mason jar, and I’m obsessed with this one, you guys!!  It’s a crisp linen scent with a kiss of fruity notes to lighten and brighten up your space, and I think pretty much anyone will love this candle.  It’s also the January Candle of the Month, so if you act quick, you can get 10% off at Antique Candle Works [HERE]!
