Hey friends!
Ok, if you are already following along over on Instagram, you’ll know that my number one goal when choosing clothes seems to be: how can I FEEL like I’m wearing my softies but LOOK like I’ve tried and am put together?!  (Softies is the nickname my grandpa gave to jammies or sweats…and it stuck!)  Feeling cozy while looking put together is a challenge and one that I’m always ready to take head on…even when it comes to date night looks!  Whether it’s a night out with my girlfriends for sushi or upcoming holiday dates like Valentine’s Day dinner with the hubs, I want to feel cute AND comfortable.  Stylish AND softies-esque.  Put together AND not having to suck in the entire time.  Too much to ask?  I say no!  😉  I shared a few comfy date night looks over on Instagram stories today [HERE], and here are a couple more ideas to go along with those!

SOURCES:

If the date night is super casual (which is honestly what I prefer…..I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal, after all!), then I love finding a way to dress up said jeans and t-shirt, keeping the look comfy but just a bit more dressy.  This gorgeous velvet and embroidered kimono from Sole Society is an easy way to add a bit of pretty to an otherwise casual outfit!  It’s so beautiful in person, and it sort of bridges the gap between chilly winter months and the coming colors of spring.  Add in a cute pair of stacked heel booties and an adorable bag…and I’m ready for laid-back night out!

SOURCES:

For this comfy, cozy date night outfit, I paired up my very favorite oversized sweater with a crushed velvet-ish pleated skirt, along with the same adorable heels from Sole Society!  Added in a blush pink clutch and I’m good to go!  The tucked in sweater is so comfortable, but the sheen and style of the skirt dress it up for a night out with the girls!  I’m still in the Diaper Phase of life with my littlest, so anytime I can ditch the huge bag for something more compact, I’m in.  This little cutie is the perfect size for the essentials, and I love the pale pink color.  This look is totally my speed if it’s time to feel a bit more fancy than jeans and a tee!

And, because I feel extremely awkward having my pictures taken for these kinds of projects, here is a glimpse of “real” Erin feeling awkward and thus acting like a dweeb.  YOU ARE WELCOME. 😉

Let’s stay friends, K? 😬
Big hugs to you my buddies, and three cheers for being comfortable AND looking cute, amiright?!
