Talk about SURREAL.
Not only did I get to join a group of pretty amazing bloggers and Instagrammers to fly out to Antique Candle Co. for a studio visit and behind the scenes look at this awesome company, I got to pour my very own mason jar of Country Pear by Cotton Stem…WITH MY OWN HANDS!  It was such a special moment for me after months of working with Brittany and the Antique Candle Co. team to create and release my very own signature fragrance.  I had to try and hold it together when I walked into the studio and saw an entire wall of cutie little Country Pear candles all packaged up and ready to mail out to my sweet and supportive buddies from all over!  Your support with this candle has meant the WORLD to me, and I can’t say enough good things about the team behind these delish candles.  Amazing people, beautiful business model, and I’m humbled to have been part of the team.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at our day at the candle studio!

If you thought their candles were adorable, well the studio itself did not disappoint!  Brittany and her team had everything ready and waiting for us to pour, label and package our own candles, and it was so neat to see all the detail and work that goes into a hand-poured candle company.

Yep.  So this was the moment I almost kinda sorta lost it in front of the candle crew and my blogger buddies.  To walk in and see a WALL of Country Pear by Cotton Stem right there with my own two eyes was just so dang surreal, because you know what?  Most days, I’m sweating around my house in a tee shirt and leggings with day old hair just trying to keep my four little daughters alive, keep the house from drowning in laundry deluge and remember to feed all these people and pets who live in my house.  😩😉  To see a wall of physical proof that I also have a creative side, an entrepreneurial side, a business-y minded side…it meant a lot to this stay-home mama.  A lot.  Humbled and honored to have been part of this project with Antique Candle Co…more than they probably know. ❤️

Bottles of fragrance options lined the walls, pristine mason jars of all sizes waited to be filled, the most adorable custom labels ready to be placed by hand…it was all so neat!  Here I am making things awkward by the hot wax machine.  Typical. 😉  First, we prepped the jars with a wick and then we measured out just the right amount of melted candle wax.  Next, we added our fragrance and poured the whole mixture into the waiting candle jar.  After letting the wax set, we added our labels and lids and voila!  Candle maker extraordinaire, right here.  JK.  I’ll leave this job to the professionals, but it was SO FUN to pour a few candles myself on this trip!

My fellow blogger buddies and I had a blast meeting the candle crew and getting a behind the scenes peek at this amazing small shop biz that I’ve loved for so long.  I hope you guys liked this little glimpse into life at a candle shop, and THANK YOU for showing up to support Country Pear by Cotton Stem!!  Y’all are the best buddies in town.

As a THANK YOU, y’all can get Country Pear by Cotton Stem [HERE] at 20% off from 4/8-4/12 using code: COTTONSTEM20  Love you guys, and thank you for cheering me on with your noses, ha! 😉

I love following you. I did buy this candle. I think you should change the name because it does not smell like pear. It is a vanilla scent. The name is deceiving. It’s a great candle… just doesn’t smell like pear.

We all must have different smellers, because I smell notes of pear! 😉 Something I learned during the scent building process of a candle is that pear is a difficult scent to have stand alone as it is a more mild scent. Thus, we went with complimentary notes of plum, roasted hazelnut and, yes, some vanilla to round it all out into a yummy treat for the nose no matter the season. Sorry you felt deceived as that absolutely would never be our intention.

I wish I could try this before I splurge on the bundle. They have a tiny jar, but I’d love to try something even smaller. Maybe they could offer sample cards, like you get for perfume? Just an idea. 😉
