Anyone else getting a little (or a LOT) stir crazy staying home so much more this year? We have been feeling the need to bust out of the same 4 walls we’re always looking at, so we decided to rent a local-ish Airbnb for a drive-able and safe family getaway. My BIL recommended a place to us, and it is the cutest A-frame cabin in the woods! It’s always a bit of a risk renting a home, and this one sure paid off. It’s adorable.
Even though we just hung out in the house and watched movies or walked across the street to the lake to search for cool rocks on the shoreline, it was so refreshing to just GO somewhere…ANYWHERE! We had a few trips planned this year that involved flying, and since those are now on the back burner, we saved most of the travel budget for later except for a few small weekend getaways like this cute A-frame cabin in the woods!
S’mores, snuggles and some new walls to look at: I’d say this adventure was a success! If you’re feeling stir crazy, maybe check out some local-ish, inexpensive home rentals when budget allows, and bust outta your house for awhile! Did our souls good to just GO!

Erin—it is all about family time! And getting out of the house while being safe. When are boys were young and we had to fly, we would pay more to have no connecting flights. They loved the airports! Just walking around, getting snacks, watching the planes land and take off. We said we could have just stayed at the airport hotel or taken 3 connecting flights! It is about the adventure of something new and being together as a family.
